👋 Welcome to OWL, the Wise, Proof of Work Tool for Jira! This guide will help you get up and running with OWL in just a few steps, from installation to connecting it with your Jira workspace. OWL makes it easy to track time, log activities, and ensure transparency in your workflows.

✅ Prerequisites

• You must be an Atlassian Admin to install apps from the Atlassian Marketplace and add them to your Jira instance.

• OWL is available exclusively for Jira Cloud instances. Ensure that your Jira environment is a Cloud instance before proceeding with the installation.

\uD83D\uDCD8 Instructions

1️⃣ Install the OWL App from the Atlassian Marketplace

• Navigate to the Atlassian Marketplace
  Go to the Atlassian Marketplace and search for "OWL – Ontask Work Logger."

• Select OWL
  Click on the OWL app and select Get it now to begin the installation process.

• Install OWL
  Follow the on-screen instructions to install the OWL app in your Jira Cloud instance. Once installed, OWL will appear in your Jira Apps drop-down navigation bar.

2️⃣ Initial Configuration

• Data Storage
  By default, OWL is configured to use OWL S3 storage, which securely stores screen captures and activity data for 30 days. This default setup allows you to quickly test the product without additional configuration.

  However, Admins have the option to configure other storage solutions based on the organization’s requirements, giving you more control over how long and where data is stored.

3️⃣ Next Steps

• Now that you’ve installed and configured OWL, you’re ready to download the OWL Desktop Client. You and your team can begin logging time and tracking work efficiently using both Jira and OWL together.
