👋 The heart of the OWL desktop client is the Ontask Manager, where you will find My Work. At OWL, "work" represents any task, ticket, or issue (as they are referred to in Jira) that you want to track your time against. Each piece of work must be tied to a project space, which some organizations may refer to as channels, teams, or even contracts/clients. This guide will walk you through the process of selecting a task and tracking your time to it, ensuring that you have everything set up to create proof of work for any task.
Open the OWL Desktop Client Launch the OWL Desktop Client on your computer.
Navigate to the Ontask Manager Once logged in, locate and click on the Ontask Manager within the OWL Desktop Client. This is where you can view all tasks assigned to you.
Select 'My Work' Within the Ontask Manager, find and select the My Work section. This area displays the tasks, tickets, or issues that you have access to, organized by project.
Choose a Task to Work On Browse through the list of tasks under My Work. Click on Work on Task next to the task or issue that you want to start working on.
Start Tracking Time After selecting a task, the details will populate in the OWL desktop client. Look for the Start button. Click it to begin tracking your time on the selected task. The OWL Client will now record your work time and activities.
